How absolutely wonderful, a Whippet Truffle Hound, the combination of two great delights!
There is, incidentally, another Whippet in Provence, just over the Dentelles south-east of you and on the foothills of Mt Ventoux. My wife Sally and I have had Whippets since the ‘60s, sadly we have just one at present, Phoebe, and whilst we unfortunately do not live permanently in France, she does spend four to five months a year there and travels on a French passport. She’s three now and vastly prefers Provence to north Essex which is far to cold and wet for both her and indeed us.
Not truffle trained yet but we do have our own truffle wood and can’t wait to follow your clearly successful method with optimism!
We used to follow you when you introduced the tasting sessions at the Wine Society and were sad when you announced your departure only to find that you had re-located less that an hour from us and were still deeply involved in wine.
Maybe we should plan a Whippet Truffle meet sometime during the summer and, who knows, even try some of our local Côte du Ventoux wines.

Hello Peter! I would absolutely LOVE to meet ip for a Truffle-Whippet walk! And, what's more, absolutely love lots of the Ventoux wines.
